Is The Skiff Your Next eBook Reader?

Due to be released later this year and almost certain to be a big hit this Christmas, the new Skiff Reader may just turn the eBook reading world on its ear.

Bigger than the Kindle, the Nook or even the iPad, the 11.5-inch Skiff will be only 1/4-inch thick.  It will feature a metal-foil touch display that will eliminate the fragile glass screen of the other readers.  It will definitely be the largest and thinnest eBook reader out there.

Featuring four times the pixels of most other viewers, the 1600 x 1200 display will help immerse the reader with a significantly sharper display than other readers, such as the Kindle.

Designed to better display books and magazines, the Skiff will feature a magnesium housing, making it an incredibly sturdy device.

Some of the reported features will include a full touch screen and an extraordinary battery life.  In fact, the Skiff will reportedly go for weeks between charges.

While there’s no word on price or availability at this time, you should expect the new Skiff to be available sometime in 2010.  Supposedly, you’ll be able to get the Skiff through Sprint.
